Sunday 12/11/11. Brandon and Ted were disqualified at the Toys for Tots 5K that was hosted by the Freehold Area Running Club after being told by Race Director and club Treasurer Isabel Meldrum that Brandon would not be allowed to compete because he was in a wheelchair. Team Brandon competed anyway and was disqualified.

Ocean Running Club Reindeer Romp/Mark Catalano 5K

Brandon got out for the ORC 18^th annual Reindeer Romp. This race was dedicated to friend and fellow athlete Mark Catalano who unexpectedly passed away earlier this year.

With Ted being sidelined with a fractured arm, Dave Slavinski of Brielle Performance Center stepped up and raced with Brandon. Not only did Brandon get to experience the thrill of competition, he experienced the thrill of victory. Dave crossed the finish line pushing Brandon in 16:17 for first place overall! A great day and special thanks to Dave.

Are you into holiday lights? Check out the best holiday light show you will ever see. Brown Family Lights in Monroe, NJ has been putting together a spectacular holiday light show. The light show can be very stimulating for people with visual impairments as it gives them an opportunity to sense the rhythm of the sound of music and sequence of synchronized holiday lights.

Team Brandon Update

Team Brandon is temporarily sidelined from running and triathlon. Ted suffered a fractured rib and arm in a bike crash. Luckily Ted is under the care of Dr. Goldberger of Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. Ted will be back to training soon, after a brief recovery. Team Brandon will be training for Eagleman 70.3, their first half-ironman distance triathlon in June 2011.
